PEAQ 351 LIFEGUARD/CPR/FA

Content: This is a certification course that includes American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. You can get certified in all this in just one weekend and 3 hours! This course is a must for anyone wishing to get a job as a lifeguard, those who spend leisure time around water or anyone wanting a fun and challenging way to earn a credit!

PEAQ 361 LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR

Level: Experienced lifeguards moving towards leadership positions

Content: You can become certified as an Instructor of Lifeguards and CPRPR and earn credit also! You will learn the different styles in which people learn and how to effectively teach to those styles. You will have the unique opportunity to actual teach lifeguard candidates enrolled in the basic Lifeguard course. This is special opportunity, as LGI courses are not offered very often. Don't let this one pass you by!

PEC 241 FIRST AID/CPR

Format: One 3-hour class per week

Content: The American Red Cross Responding to Emergencies and CPR certifications may be obtained by the successful completion of this course. The class consists of two written exams and three practical exams. Course content includes sessions on: taking action in emergencies, checking victims, CPR and rescue breathing, bleeding, shock, splinting and bandaging. Also, bone and soft tissue injuries, poisoning, moving victims, and childbirth.

PEOL 493 WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER

Content: This is a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course designed for hikers, climbers, backpackers, skiers, and anyone else who spends time in the backcountry. The course covers the material in the Oregon Department of Transportation’s program and additional material on wilderness medicine, improvisation and long term care. Students who successfully complete the course requirements receive WFR cards. This course is conducted at Camp Lutherwood near Eugene during the latter part of September.
