PERS 211 TABLE TENNIS 1
Credits: 1
Format: One two-hour sessions per week
Level: Beginning
Prerequisite: None
Content: Class includes information on equipment and safety. Skills taught include serves, forehand and backhand drives, drops and pushes; blocks, lobs, kills and smashes, singles and doubles play.
PERS 212 TABLE TENNIS 2

Prerequisite: PERS 211 or equivalent

PERS 231 BADMINTON 1
Credits: 1
Format: Two 50-minute sessions per week
Level: Beginning
Prerequisite: None
Content: The course is designed for students with limited or no badminton experience. Students will be introduced to the basic shots (forehand and backhand drives, overhead clear, smash) and serves (long serve, short serve) as well as beginning level court positioning and strategy for singles and doubles. By the end of the term, students will be familiar with the rules, scoring and court etiquette involved in the sport. Students will have the opportunity to participate in drills, and actual game play as well as receiving individual shot analysis.
PERS 232 BADMINTON 2

Format: Two 50-minute sessions per week
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: Beginning experience
Content: The course is designed for students with moderate to intermediate badminton experience. Students will review and refine the basic shots (forehand and backhand drives, overhead clear, smash. short serve, etc.) and be introduced to intermediate level shots (flick serve, drive serve, around the head, attacking clear and drives). Students will have the opportunity to learn intermediate level positioning and strategy through participation in drills, match play and class tournaments. Students will also receive individual shot analysis.
PERS 241 RACQUETBALL 1

Format: Two 50-minute sessions per week
Level: Beginning
Prerequisite: None
Content: The course is designed for students with limited or no prior racquetball experience. The students will be introduced to the basic shots (forehand, backhand, ceiling, and kill) and serves (drive and lob), as well as beginning level strategy for singles, "cut-throat" and doubles. By the end of the term, students will be familiar with the rules, scoring and etiquette involved in the sport. The course will provide the students the opportunity to learn basic racquetball skills through participation in drills, actual game play and mini-tournaments.
PERS 242 RACQUETBALL 2

Format: Two 50-minute sessions per week
Level: Beginning
Prerequisite: PERS 241 or equivalent
Content: The course is designed for students with intermediate to advanced racquetball experience. The students will review the basic shots (forehand, backhand, ceiling, kill, lob serve, and drive serve) and develop intermediate/advanced shots (z-serve, around the wall, drop, and lob shots). Students will also be introduced to the mental game of racquetball. The course will provide the students with the opportunity to learn intermediate and advanced racquetball skills and strategy through participation in drills, actual game play and class tournaments.
PERS 243 RACQUETBALL 3
Credits: 1
Format: Two 50-minute sessions per week
Level: Intermediate to advanced
Prerequisite: PERS 242 or equivalent
Content: Racquetball 3 will build upon the skills in Racquetball 2 and will involve more drills and one-on-one time with the instructor. We will focus on the various thinking aspects of the game such as improving our shot selection and playing point by point - with more of a tournament mindset. We will also practice more advanced shots including cross-court passes and the splat. Racquetball 3 is for advanced players and requires Racquetball 2 or permission from the instructor.
PERS 271 TENNIS 1

Prerequisite: None
Content: The course is designed for students with limited or no prior tennis experience. The students will be introduced to the basic strokes (forehand, backhand, and volley) and the serve, as well as beginning level positioning and strategy for singles and doubles play. By the end of the term, students will be familiar with the rules, scoring and etiquette involved in the sport. The course will provide students with the opportunity to learn basic tennis skills through participation in drills, actual game play and a class tournament. Students will also receive individual stroke analysis.
PERS 272 TENNIS 2

Format: Two 50-minute sessions per week
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: Beginning to intermediate experience
Content: The course is designed for students with a moderate to intermediate level of tennis experience. In addition to reviewing and refining basic strokes (forehand, backhand, volley, serve), the students will be introduced to the approach shot, overhead smash and lob, as well as how to hit with top spin and slice. The course will provide the students the opportunity to learn intermediate tennis skills and strategy through participation in drills, actual game play and a class tournament. Students will also receive individual stroke analysis.
PERS 273 TENNIS 3

Format: Two 50-minute sessions per week
Level: Advanced
Prerequisite: Intermediate to advanced experience
Content: The course is designed for students with advanced tennis experience. In addition to having the opportunity to refine their tennis strokes, students will be introduced to advanced level singles and doubles positioning, strategy and skills (serve and volley, return and rush, spin serves, drop shots, etc.). The course will provide the students with a great amount of drills and actual game play, plus a class tournament as well as individual shot analysis.
