PEAS 368 SCUBA (open water certification)
Credits: 2
Format: Two 75 minute classroom sessions per week plus one 2 hour in-water lab, plus one weekend outing.
Level: Beginning
Prerequisite: 200 yard swim and 10 minute tread
Content: This is the starting point for those of you will would like to discover the wonderful world "down under". You will learn to safely use scuba equipment with confidence through instruction and practice. At the end of six weeks you will have the opportunity to actually use your knowledge and skills in both fresh water and salt water dives at the Oregon coast! All equipment is provided.
PEAS 369 SCUBA (advanced open water diver certification)
Credits: 1
Format: One two-hour classroom session for three weeks, one in-water lab, plus one weekend outing.
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: PEAS 368 - Open water certification.
Content: Go beyond the basics while you learn navigation, deep diving, night diving and other specialty topics. Imagine diving on shipwrecks, taking underwater pictures or just hanging out at 60 feet below sea level. The weekend outing is a dive at Hoodsport, WA, a place known for its diving! All equipment is provided.
PEAS 370 SCUBA (rescue diver certification)
Credits: 1
Format: One two-hour session per week plus a 2-3 day outing.
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: PEAS 368 - Open water certification.
Content: This course is a must for anyone planning to do a lot of open water diving. Learn skills that could help save a life! You will experience tows, assists, in-water resuscitation and rescues and removal techniques. The weekend outing puts all of your skills into play in the "true" environment. All equipment is provided.
PEAS 372 SCUBA (altitude diver certification)
Credits: 1
Format: One two-hour session per week plus a 2-3 day outing.
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: PEAS 368 - Open water certification.
Content: Introduction to the varieties of multilevel diving. Multilevel dive calculators, dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques, and safety.
PEAS 376 SCUBA (night diver certification)
Credits: 1
Format: One two-hour classroom session per week plus a 2-3 day outing.
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: PEAS 368 - Open water certification.
Content: Introduction to night dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. Learn to control buoyancy, navigate and communicate at night.
PEAS 377 SCUBA (equipment certification)
Credits: 1
Format: Meets one Sunday plus a 2-3 day outing.
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: PEAS 368 - Open water certification.
Content: This course familiarizes divers with new types of equipment and their operation and maintenance.
PEAS 378 SCUBA (nitrox)
Credits: 1
Format: One two-hour classroom session per week plus a 2-3 day outing.
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: PEAS 368 - Open water certification.
Content: Instruction in diving with enriched air to extend no decompression limits, increasing time spent underwater.
PEAS 380 Underwater Photography
Credits: 1
Content: Quickly and easily capture the underwater world with your camera and on your computer. Learn the PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine and Adjust) method, which takes full advantage of digital technology. The result is good underwater photos faster than you may imagine.
PEAS 381/82 SCUBA (dive master certification)
Credits: 1
Format: Two hour classroom session one time per week.
Level: Level: Advanced
Prerequisite: 18 years old, Rescue Diver Certification, 20 logged dives.
Content: Become certified to help teach diving! You will learn to assist a PADI instructor organize, conduct and supervise Open Water Certification candidates. Develop your theoretical diving knowledge in preparation of becoming an instructor! All equipment is provided.
PEAS 383 SCUBA (PADI IDC)
Credits: 2
Format: Meets for a full week from Friday to Friday
Level: Advanced
Prerequisite: 18 years old, PADI Divemaster or PADI Assistant Instructor
Content: Instructor courses are hard to find, but we have one! Learn about the Dive industry, lesson preparation and delivery, and experience practice teaching both in water and on land. This course is a must for anyone hoping to take the PADI instructor exams!
